Wyeth's "Goodbye" will be featured in the 25th anniversary
edition of Island Journal, which goes into circulation this
weekend. The painting depicts an island scene. Look closely,
however, and you'll see a sloop sailing off the canvas.
Spokeswoman Nancy McLeod Carter says "Goodbye" will be part of
a folio of Wyeth works featured in the publication.
Wyeth died at his Pennsylvania home on Jan. 16 at 91. He kept a
summer home in Maine, and he and his wife Betsy provided initial
funding for the first Island Journal in 1984. It's a publication of
the Island Institute, an organization dedicated to issues affecting
Maine's 15 year-round island communities.
