A standoff between police and a shooting suspect at a motel in Burlington County, New Jersey, has ended peacefully.

The gunman made a run for it from Maryland yesterday that ended at about six last night when he barricaded himself inside the Econo Lodge Motel on routes 130 and 206 in Bordentown.

New Jersey state police officers surrounded the motel and began negotiating with the 20-year-old suspect.

After almost nine hours, the suspect decided to walk out of the motel without incident.

Police have taken him into custody.

He faces attempted murder charges for a shooting in Maryland.
