A man inside woke up when he heard footsteps in the upstairs, and walked to his master bedroom where his wife and child were sleeping.
There, police say the man saw Gallagher crawling on the floor on his hands and knees. The man punched Gallagher and police say he tried to fight back, but was no match for the 6'3", 260+ pound homeowner.
Police even say Gallagher tried pull knife out of his pocket, but the homeowner grabbed him and held him in place until police arrived.
Gallagher had some items that belonged to the victim, and a bag of quarters that did not, indicating he may be responsible for another crime, authorities said.
Gallagher has been charged with burglary related offenses and was found to be wanted at least six times for crimes that occurred in Kent County.
