Man injured in face in West Oak Lane

A man is being treated at Einstein Medical Center after being injured in the face while driving to work.Police say, contrary to initial reports, the man was not shot.

Instead, investigators say someone threw an object through his car window as he was driving.

He suffered severe facial injuries.

It happened around 8:15 a.m. Wednesday in the area of Ogontz Avenue and Washington Lane in Philadelphia's West Oak Lane section.

The man's identity has not been released.
