Homeowner, firefighter hurt in blaze

Investigators are trying to figure out what sparked a 2-alarm blaze that burned a homeowner and put a firefighter in the hospital in Delaware County Thursday morning.

It started around 9:45 a.m. along the 3700 block Ridgewood Lane in Brookhaven, Pa.

Firefighters found the homeowner on the lawn outside the house as it burned. Medics rushed her to Crozer-Chester hospital for burns and smoke inhalation. A firefighter also needed treatment for heat exhaustion.

Both state and local fire investigators are trying to figure out what caused the fire.
