New charges for man accused of burning woman

READING, Pa. (AP) - August 10, 2009 Authorities say 32-year-old Donald Williams was charged with murder on Sunday. He already was in Berks County Prison in connection with the June 25 assault.

Police say Williams doused 49-year-old Maria Serrano with gasoline and then set her and her house on fire.

She died Saturday in Lehigh Valley Hospital. Lehigh County Coroner Scott Grim said Serrano died of complications from burns.

Williams had previously been convicted of murder for a 1994 slaying in Philadelphia. He was paroled in August 2008.
