Police: Heroin stash seized from 70-year-old

LOWER TOWNSHIP, N.J. - September 14, 2009 Police say they received a tip on Friday that Francis Leszcynski, 70, of Villas, New Jersey, was going to the North Cape May Shopping Center in a pickup truck to distribute a substantial amount of heroin.

Detectives say they were already there when Leszcynski arrived, and approached him. Police say Leszcynski surrendered 24 packets of heroin that he had on his person at the time. Once he was arrested, police say Leszcynski told them he had more heroin at his home.

After a search, police say they found 104 bags of herion and more than $30,000 in cash.

Leszcynski was taken to the Cape May County Jail with bail set at $25,000 cash.

He is charged with Possession of Heroin and Possession of Heroin with Intent to Distribute.
