Homeowner fatally shoots invader

NORTH PHILADELPHIA - November 21, 2009

Police tell Action News that three people forced their way into the home around midnight Friday night armed with guns.

They then encountered the homeowner and at least three other people inside and attempted to rob them.

During the incident, the homeowner produced his own gun and fired at the males striking one of the them, a 23-year-old, several times.

That male collapsed outside the home and was pronounced dead by fire rescue crews.

He was later identified as 23-year-old Gannon Lowly.

As of now, there have been no arrests on the other two suspects involved and no charges have been filed against the homeowner at this time.

Police continue to investigate.
