Police say the 16-year-old girl called police around 2 a.m. Saturday saying she and her 13-year-old brother had been beaten.
Court documents state the girl told police that 38-year-old Wayne Jones took her brother into a vacant home in Frederica. When she checked on them, she told police Jones said her brother was playing in the living room and then hit her from behind.
The girl told investigators that Jones then drove them to an apartment, where he raped her.
Jones told police he took the children for ice cream and they were attacked.
Jones is charged with two counts of attempted murder, second-degree rape, endangering the welfare of a child and other offenses.
