Also closed are all District Comprehensive Early Learning Centers, and all after-school activities are canceled. All sporting activities will be rescheduled.
Administrative and regional offices will be open at regular scheduled hours.
The general public and media are asked to monitor the District website at www.philasd.org for any updates. Updated information will also be posted on the District's School Closing Hotline at 215-400-INFO (4636).
The Philadelphia Archiocese also sent out a notice saying their schools would be closed on Friday.
