Burger King revamps coffee, eyes menu rehab

CHICAGO - February 16, 2010

The nation's No. 2 burger chain says it will add Starbucks' Seattle's Best Coffee to all its U.S. restaurants beginning this summer.

The new brew replaces Burger King's BK Joe coffee. The move is a first step in an effort to beef up its breakfast menu.

Terms of the deal weren't disclosed. All of Burger King's roughly 7,000 U.S. restaurants will sell the coffee. The drinks include both hot and iced coffee. The iced drinks come with a choice of flavors.

The agreement is the latest expansion for Seattle's Best. Starbucks has focused on building the lesser-known brand it acquired in 2003.

Burger King is based in Miami.
