Swollen NJ rivers begin to recede

TRENTON, N.J. - March 15, 2010

Meteorologist Greg Heavener at the National Weather Service office in Mt. Holly says only about a tenth-of-and-inch of rain is expected.

Heavener says even though flood warnings remain in effect, waters are beginning to recede. However, wind gusts of 25 to 30 mph are possible.

The forecaster says the rain will end and winds should subside by Tuesday.

The weekend nor'easter pummeled parts of the Garden State with wind gusts up to 70 mph and more than 4 inches of rain. Gov. Chris Christie declared a state of emergency on Sunday night.

Two neighbors were killed by a falling tree in Teaneck as they headed home from a prayer service.
