Bail raised for suspect in NJ chase, crash

VINELAND, N.J. - March 31, 2010

During the arraignment for Michael Jones, the judge raised his bail to $1.2 million after seeing his prior criminal record.

Prosectors say Jones had a record of 52 arrests when allegedly slammed into the van driven by 81 year old Alfred Costantino in Vineland on Tuesday.

Costantino was pronounced dead at the scene.

The SUV was stolen from the Franklinville Fire company.

Police say they broke off their chase moments before the crash.
