Bomb report forces evacuation in Del.

NEW CASTLE CITY, Del. - April 17, 2010 Police were called to the 100 block of west Ninth Street just after 5:00 p.m. after they received a report of someone claiming to have a bomb.

The man who made the claim left the house. A strong odor from the house aroused police suspicion.

As a precaution, about 50 homes within 600 feet of the house have been evacuated.

The incident ended just after 10:00 p.m.

Nothing was found.

Residents have been allowed to return.

Police have not been able to locate the man making the claim.
