But the city of Hurricane, Utah is finally getting its own dog park.
The head of an advocacy group says the southern Utah city is taking its first steps toward getting a park for pooches.
The land for the park was donated by the city.
And a local company is pitching in with free design work.
The park will feature dog water fountains and separate areas for dogs with passive and active personalities.
Next step: raising the money for a fence.
It may take up to five years to finish the project.
