Victim in fiery Hockessin crash identified

HOCKESSIN, Del. - May 24, 2010

David Brower, 25, of Hockessin was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Police say around 2:30 on Monday morning Brower's car, a 2000 Toyota, went out of control at the intersection of Lancaster Pike and Newport Gap Pike in Hockessin.

It slammed into a tree and burst into flames.

Brower was trapped for about 45 minutes while firefighters used the jaws of life to get him out.

He was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Investigators say alcohol is considered a factor in this crash.
