$2M bail for NJ man charged in teacher slaying

MORRISTOWN, N.J. - June 30, 2010

State Superior Court Judge David Ironson set separate bail of $30,000 on charges that Anthony Novellino of Denville made terroristic threats to his wife's divorce lawyer.

Appearing by video link from the Morris County Jail, Novellino spoke during Wednesday's proceeding only to acknowledge that he needs a lawyer.

The body of his former wife, Judith, a high school English teacher, was found in their home June 19. She'd been stabbed more than 80 times. Prosecutors say Anthony Novellino had covered her face with a Halloween pig-face mask.

He was returned to New Jersey Monday following his arrest in Washington state last Thursday.
