Authorities were called to the area of 17th Street and Wyoming Avenue in the Logan section of Philadelphia around 1:50 p.m.
Investigators say a woman shot her husband twice, wounding him in the hip and the arm.
The wife then fled from the home into a park where police say she shot herself in the head.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The husband, in his 50's, was transported to Albert Einstein Medical Center. He is stable.
Police continue to investigate.
