Details released in Bordentown murder-suicide

BORDENTOWN, N.J. - January 6, 2011

John Havens III, 30, and Kerri Havens, 29, were found inside their home at 41 Tantum Court around 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday.

According to investigators, John Havens killed Kerri Havens by striking her with a hammer.

Police said John Havens then took his own life by cutting his neck and arms.

The bodies were found by Kerri Havens' parents, police said, who had gone to the house to watch their two children.

Those children, a three-year-old girl and a one-year-old boy, were not physically harmed.

Police say their preliminary investigation revealed that the couple had an argument, resulting in the murder-suicide.
