Snow blamed in school bus crash in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, Del. - January 26, 2011

The bus appears to have slid on the snow covered road and into a parked vehicle.

The accident happened at 8:30 a.m. in the 400 block of Van Buren Street.

The Red Clay School District students on the bus were in route to William C. Lewes School in the 900 block of North Van Buren Street.

Paramedics at the scene checked the students for injuries, but luckily, no one appears to have been hurt.

In addition to the bus involved in the accident, another bus is stuck in the 500 block of North Van Buren. There is no word on if there are students on the second bus.

The buses are unable to travel up Van Buren, which is a hill due to the untreated road.
