Firefighters got the call at about 5:30 a.m., that a fire had broken out in an apartment building in the complex along the 1000 block of Red Lion Road in the Bustleton section of the city.
Crews arrived a few minutes later and placed the fire under control in about 20 minutes.
When firefighters made what they are calling a secondary search of the second floor, they found the body of one person.
Investigators have not released the name of the victim.
They are searching for the cause.
