Third body found at site of Kensington fire

KENSINGTON - February 14, 2011

The fire happened on Saturday and two bodies were found soon after. Now, Action News has learned, a third body was found on Sunday.

Investigators have not been able to identify this latest victim, or even determine the age or gender.

Meanwhile, the previous victims have been identified, police said, but their identities are not yet being released. All they will say is that one victim was 46 years old and the other was 29 years old.

The fire was first reported around 11:40 a.m. Saturday at a row home in the 3300 block of Rand Street.

One victim was found in the house with a possible gunshot wound to the head.

As officers went to move the gunshot victim out, the fire department noticed a man on the second floor with a gun.

Police say he started throwing items at rescuers, refusing to drop his weapon. Police fired at him but had to back off because of the increasing smoke.

An investigation into this incident continues.
