Brother of H'burg mayor pleads no contest in theft

HARRISBURG, Pa. - March 15, 2011

Sixty-two-year-old Michael Crawford entered his plea Monday in Cumberland County Court to charges of theft by deception and witness intimidation. Prosecutors say Crawford posed as a paralegal and stole $5,000 from a 76-year-old man who wanted to file a lawsuit.

Cumberland County Senior Assistant District Attorney Christylee Peck says Crawford faces at least a year in prison at his May 31 sentencing.

Crawford is the brother of Harrisburg Mayor Linda Thompson. At the time of Crawford's arrest in September, the mayor's office said the siblings hadn't spoken in years.
