The Reading Eagle says 26-year-old Eduard Baez-Rodriguez of Providence, R.I., said Monday in Berks County Court that he regrets what happened that day and wants to change his life.
Authorities said 40-year-old Jose Rivera Jr. was shot four times as he sat on a bar stool in Reading's Topher's Cafe in April 2008. Prosecutors said he was killed over a $100 drug debt.
Twenty-five-year-old Jose Correa-Sanchez of Reading was sentenced to seven to 14 years. Baez-Rodriguez and Correa-Sanchez testified in the trial of 28-year-old Javier Antonetty-Rodriguez of Reading, who was convicted and sentenced to life plus 20 to 40 years.
