Jerry Van Dyke says that opening night on Wednesday was "fantastic" and drew big audience laughs. He says the scenes in which their characters fight were real crowd-pleasers, especially given their age: he is 79 and Dick Van Dyke is 85.
The Malibu Stage Company production is a limited-run fundraiser for the theater and ends Sunday. But Jerry Van Dyke says there have been nibbles from Broadway - if he can talk his brother into it.
