Police: Parolee tried to abduct woman, tied up guard

PHILADELPHIA - April 25, 2011

Officers were called to the Gaudenzia Halfway House at 1300 W. Spring Garden Street around 2:35 a.m. Monday.

A female resident told officers that fellow resident Roosevelt Glenn, 61, woke her up and forced her out of her room at knifepoint.

Police say Glenn then forced her from the building at which point she was able to fight Glenn off and run for help. 

Officers responded to the Gaudenzia House and then found a security officer tied-up.  The security officer reported that Glenn tied him up and took his personal belongings.

Glenn is described as black male standing about 5'10" tall. He weighs 210 pounds, has salt & pepper hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing blue sweat pants and a white t-shirt.

Police say Glenn is considered armed and dangerous. He may be frequenting the following areas:

  • 20th and Parrish Streets
  • 2900 N. Bambrey St.
  • 4400 Parrish St.
