3 rescued after spending night floating in Del. Bay

TOWNSEND, Del. - July 18, 2011

Delaware Department of Natural Resources Sgt. Greg Rhodes tells Action News that the three were spotted in the water Monday morning and picked up by a commercial crabber.

The two men and a woman were then brought to shore at Flemming's Landing around 9:00 a.m. and checked out by paramedics. There is no information on their condition at this point.

Commercial crabber Brian Hoffaker says he was tending his crab pots this morning and thought he saw a hand waving in the distance. He moved closer and discovered the trio hanging onto their overturned boat.

The Department of Natural Resources is investigating.
