Police: Pa. man celebrating release doubly drunk

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - July 29, 2011

The Express-Times of Easton reports 56-year-old Gilberto Hernandez told Bethlehem police he was celebrating his release from jail when he was cited early Thursday morning and taken to a hospital to sober up. He was cited again and taken to a hospital at 9 p.m. the same night.

Hernandez had been released from jail Tuesday after serving seven days for failing to pay a fine after pleading guilty to public drunkenness.

The Express-Times reports Hernandez has been cited 29 times in the last 18 months, mostly for public drunkenness.

A phone listing for Hernandez could not be located Friday.
