It was around 8:20 p.m. on Monday when the victim, 75-year-old Gail Crispin, was running on the athletic track behind the George Read Middle School, was approached from behind by the two suspects.

Police say one of the men pulled a gun and tried to rob the man, but Crispin ran away.

Several shots were fired, police say, but the jogger was not hit.

Evelyn Crispin tells Action News her husband is left with a broken nose and a chipped tooth after he fell running to get away from the armed man.

He was transported to the hospital for facial injuries.

The suspects fled on foot empty-handed.

Both are described as black men, 30 to 35 years of age standing between 5'7" and 5'9" tall. Both had averages builds and wore dark clothing.

Evelyn says her husband runs four miles every other day. He ran the Boston Marathon about four years ago.
