Police say the SUV went out of control about 1:00 in the morning on Friday, at Erie Avenue and Elsinore Street in the Juniata Park, hitting a parked vehicle.
The car then overturned on its roof.
Firefighters had to cut through the vehicle to reach the trapped 30-year-old driver.
He was taken to Temple University Hospital where he is in stable condition with several serious injuries.
Police are trying to determine what caused the SUV to go out of control.
