It happened early Saturday morning on the 3100 block of North Bambry Street.
Authorities say the car hit two parking poles, flipped over, hit a porch and caught on fire in Hunting Park.
50-year-old Sheila Whalen - a passenger in the vehicle was trapped in the wreckage and died.
Another passenger survived the crash and was being questioned by investigators.
The vehicle was owned by Whalen but the person driving the car was not on the scene when officers arrived.
No one in the home was reported injured.
