Del. man to be sentenced in campaign finance probe

WILMINGTON, Del. - March 6, 2012

Christopher Tigani faces up to 16 years in prison when he appears before a federal judge in Wilmington on Tuesday.

Tigani pleaded guilty last year to using his family's alcoholic beverage distributorship to make illegal campaign contributions. Court records suggest that some of those contributions went to Vice President Joe Biden's 2008 presidential campaign.

Tigani is asking that he be sentenced to home confinement and community service, but federal prosecutors want the judge to sentence him to at least 25 months behind bars.
