Three injured after Market Street crash in Upper Darby

UPPER DARBY, Pa. - March 7, 2012

The crash happened around 3:00 a.m. Wednesday on the 6300 block of Market Street in Upper Darby.

Police say the driver was speeding, lost control of the car, and hit the support beam for the Market-Frankford El.

The collision was so powerful that it sent the car's engine into a nearby field where it started a small fire.

The driver and two passengers went to the hospital. One person is in critical condition - the other two are expected to be OK.

There is no word on charges at this time.
