Twenty-nine-year-old Lafayette Upshaw of Allentown is charged with criminal homicide, attempted homicide, aggravated assault and recklessly endangering another person.
Authorities allege that he shot 19-year-old Anthony Santiago on Wednesday across the street from Stevens Playground. Santiago was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, where he died. Another man was shot in the foot.
Upshaw was arrested the day after the shooting on drug counts. He remained in custody without bail pending a preliminary hearing Friday. A listed number in his name could not be found and the public defender's office, which is listed as representing him, could not be reached Saturday.
