Fire guts North Phila. mini-mart

It took more than an hour and a half for 80 firefighters to gain control of a blaze at a North Philadelphia convenience store.

A 2-alarm fire gutted a North Philadelphia convenience store Thursday night.

The flames broke out just before 11:00 p.m. at Wesley Mini-Mart, located on the 1500 block of Clearfield Street.

It took 80 firefighters an hour and a half to gain control of the blaze.

Seven people inside six neighboring homes were temporarily evacuated.

There are no reports of injuries and no word on what caused the fire.
