Parenting: Living With My Parents is Awesome!

April 20, 2012

The Pew Research Center conducted a poll that was released last month, titled "The Boomerang Generation." The title tells much of the story.

It seems young adults who moved out of the house to start a career aren't finding jobs, and are moving back into the nest. And that's okay, they say.

Pew finds that the act of moving in with your parents once more doesn't carry the stigma that it might have carried for earlier generations. (Hello, George Costanza.)

In fact, the Pew study indicates large majorities of people who re-boarded their parents' ship are satisfied with their situation, and are comfortable with their finances.

This trend, if it indeed is real, seems to be a direct result of how tough it is for young adults to find jobs, even those who carry a college degree.

It reminds me of a story we did a while back about how the poor job market was pushing more dads to stay at home with their children, while the mom heads to work. Refresh your memory on that storyhere.
