Man arrested after fatal DUI in Montco

WEST POTTSGROVE TWP., Pa. - April 24, 2012

Marco Cuevas Mora is charged with Homicide By Vehicle While DUI and other related charges.

According to the Montgomery County Prosecutor's Office, the crash happened at approximately 12:20 a.m. Sunday along Route 422 in West Pottsgrove Township, Pennsylvania. Arriving officers found the 2000 Volkswagen Jetta in the woods off of the roadway.

There were a total of three occupants in the car at the time of the crash. One of the occupants, identified as Armando Mora-Lemus, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

Marco Mora and a rear seat passenger of the vehicle were transported to Reading Hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Officers at the scene and at the hospital detected alcohol on Marco Mora 's breath and say they found him to be visibly impaired. A blood test was conducted at the hospital and submitted to National Medical Services for analysis.

Accident scene investigators determined that the car was traveling at a minimum speed of 79 miles per hour when it crossed through the westbound lanes of the roadway and went onto the berm. The front left of the car struck the guardrail, causing it to flip airborne over the guardrail and into several tree tops.

Police say the vehicle traveled over 117 feet before landing. The vehicle then continued to roll an additional 85 feet, striking several trees before coming to a rest in a ditch.

The right front seat passenger was ejected via the broken out sun roof of the vehicle as it was coming to rest.

In a conversation at Reading Hospital, Marco Mora allegedly told a police officer that he has had enough of the USA and that he was going back to Mexico. To prevent him from fleeing the country, he was taken into custody following his release from the hospital.
