Dr. Matthew Lieber's office in downtown Yardley was closed today after he was arrested and accused of aggravated indecent assault on a 69-year-old female patient.
"Oh it's completely bogus. Matthew has been our chiropractor for about 8 years now," client Scott Harrah told Action News.
The Bucks County District Attorney's Office says the 46-year-old man took advantage of the woman while the two were alone in a room, during a session last month inside the Yardley Chiropratic and Massage Center.
"With a patient client relationship, there is a level of trust there so what's alleged with this particular complaint would absolutely be a violation of that trust," Bucks County Deputy District Attorney Nathaniel Spang said.
The details of the allegations are too graphic to broadcast, but the alleged victim, who had been a client for years, said she asked Lieber to stop after the indecent touching went on for several seconds.
Action News went to Lieber's Yardley home Wednesday, but there was no answer.
Lieber's attorney Sara Webster says he's cooperating with the investigation and he's well-liked in this community where he's practiced for almost a decade.
"Judge him based upon the life he's lived for the last 46 years and not on the allegation of one woman, on one occasion, for five minutes," Webster said.
The judge released Lieber on a $150,000 unsecured bail and said he could go back to work, but he's not allowed to have unsupervised contact with clients.
Client Lisa Harrah says she and her entire family will continue going to the chiropractor who they've trusted for years.
"He always wants to make sure you're comfortable, never wants to offend anyone. He's just a very, very good guy," Harrah said.
The DA's office says there's no evidence that there are any other victims out there, but its asking for anyone who may have experienced unwanted physical contact by Dr. Lieber to come forward and call 215-348-6354 to speak to Detective Kemmerer or Detective Thiel.
