Berks Co cop accused of attacking police chief

WEST READING, Pa. - September 12, 2012

Officer Ronald Ladd says he went into his chief's office back on August 31st to complain about being verbally attacked in public by a fellow officer. He says his conversation with Chief Edward Fabriziani turned physical.

Ladd says, "[Fabriziani] took and hit me with the heels of his hand (sic). And when he did that, I pushed back - a fight ensued."

The District Attorney says an investigation shows Officer Ladd was the aggressor, not the chief.

Ladd stands by his claims. He says he's endured more than a decade of harassment on the job.

Ladd faces a citation that could get him 90 days in jail or a $300 fine.
