A Coast Guard helicopter crew came to the rescue when the angler got stuck in a marsh.
Coast Guard officials say the man tried to walk ashore when the tide started going out and his boat wouldn't budge.
A Coast Guard spokeswoman says the man didn't realize how far he had to walk in the mud and called for help on a hand-held radio.
The fisherman, who's believed to be in his 60s, didn't need medical attention.
