The crash happened around 7:45 a.m. Friday in on the highway between Montgomery and Girard.
Pennsylvania State Police say the wheel came from an eastbound Land Rover.
It flew over the median and struck a Nissan.
The injured driver was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries.
The view from Chopper 6 HD showed the silver car with heavy damage to the passenger's side.
