Pair wanted after Mont. Co. holdup

Police in Montgomery County are looking for a pair of armed robbers who held up a convenience store overnight.

It happened at the 7-Eleven on the 1400 block of City Avenue in Lower Merion Township.

Police tell Action News that 2 men entered the store at 4:30 a.m. Sunday. The suspect asked for 20 packs of cigarettes. The clerk grabbed 10 and put them on the counter and when he turned around to grab 10 more, the suspect grabbed the 10 and fled.

Police say that's when the clerk ran after him. As the suspect got into the get away car, the driver flashed a gun and demanded the clerk get back behind the counter.

The clerk went back in the store and was uninjured.

Both men fled from the store in a green sedan and headed north on City Avenue.
