Elderly man missing from East Windsor, New Jersey

EAST WINDSOR, N.J. - April 9, 2014

"The emotional roller coaster is crazy," said Lauren Hebert.

Hebert is trying to find her father 81-year-old Phil Brooks. Brooks hasn't been seen since last Friday.

Security cameras captured him entering the health building at the Meadow Lakes Retirement Community in East Windsor to visit his wife in the health unit. That's the last anyone heard from him.

Hebert says her dad has struggled with memory loss lately, but disappearing like this is highly unusual.

"It is not in character for him to have been this disoriented, for him to have gotten that far off the beaten path, has me very concerned," she said.

Brooks hasn't used his credit card, but EZpass records have tracked his vehicle to the Cape May tollbooth on the Garden State Parkway near Sea Isle at 6:53 Friday night.

Brooks is driving a red 2006 Subaru Forester Wagon with New Jersey tag number ZTS-47Y.

The retired electrical engineer is the father of two and grandfather of five. He builds miniature boats and is active in the Meadow Lakes community.

"He comes down every morning, every day to see his wife. He's just a loving person and I wish everybody would send out their prayers," said Alice McCall, activity aide at Meadow Lakes Retirement Community.

Hebert and her friends have organized search parties and are trying to get her dad's picture out through social media.

"It's very upsetting to think that he could be in distress, he could have any type of suffering," she said.

Brooks is a white male with white and balding hair. He is about 5'7" tall, 160 pounds and last seen wearing glasses, a maroon colored jacket with a gray collar and dark colored pants.

Police have put out alerts throughout New Jersey and the surrounding states. If anyone sees that red station wagon or Phil Brooks you are asked to contact authorities right away.
