Innocent bystander shot after 58 bullets fired in Philadelphia: 'Sounded like missiles'

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- An innocent bystander was shot after gunmen fired 58 shots in Philadelphia's Parkside neighborhood.

The shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. Thursday at 53rd and Wyalusing.

The bullets traveled nearly two blocks, hitting 23-year-old Siani Ingram once in her left arm.

"I heard what sounded like missiles going past my ear ... like fast," said Ingram.

The victim had left her house to go to a nearby corner store for snacks with her friends. The young women were having a game night.

We're told she started to run when she heard the gunshots but then fell to the ground.

"Once I realized my arm went numb, and I went like this, I dropped. I realized I was hit. I got shot and I ran there to the bar," she recalled.

Outside of the nearby bar, she flagged down a driver who took her to the hospital.

Ingram says she is grateful to the man who drove her to the hospital.

"It made me feel good everybody don't have to do that," said Ingram.

At least two parked cars were hit by the gunfire.

"Clearly, at least two separate caliber semiautomatic weapons were being fired," said Chief Inspector Scott Small.

The shooters got away.

Small said it's fortunate no one else was injured or killed after so many rounds were fired.

"That's a whole lot of shots fired in this mainly residential area," he said.

Investigators are checking for surveillance video from real-time crime cameras and a nearby store to see if the suspects can be identified.
