PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The Philadelphia Eagles' first game at Lincoln Financial Field this season kicks off Monday night against the Atlanta Falcons.

You can watch Monday Night Football on 6abc. Coverage starts at 8 p.m.

Nick Foles to be honored

Before kick-off, the team is set to honor Super Bowl LII MVP Nick Foles as he retires as an Eagle after his 11-year NFL career.

He'll even serve as honorary captain for the game.

Foles became the starter late in the 2017 season after Carson Wentz was injured, and led the way to a 41-33 victory over the Patriots in Super Bowl LII.

Foles called the now-iconic "Philly Special" late in the first half. He ran to the end zone and caught a pass from tight end Trey Burton.

He became the first quarterback in NFL history to catch a touchdown in the Super Bowl.

A.J. Brown ruled out

Eagles star receiver A.J. Brown has been downgraded to out for Monday night's game against the Atlanta Falcons.

Brown popped up on the injury report Friday after his hamstring "got a little tight" in practice, according to coach Nick Sirianni. He was sidelined for Saturday's session and originally carried a questionable designation on the final practice report before being ruled out Sunday.

Brown, 27, has been a central part of the Eagles' offensive attack since being acquired from the Tennessee Titans in 2022. He became the first player in team history to post 1,400-plus receiving yards in back-to-back seasons, setting franchise highs for receiving yards in both campaigns.

Barkley tries for another dominant effort

Barkley stole the show in his Eagles debut.

He gave the offense the credible, every-down back the franchise craved.

Barkley's three-touchdown effort sealed a few fantasy football victories, too. He had 109 yards rushing and he scored on an 18-yard catch and on runs of 11 and 2 yards.

The $26 million running back shouldn't necessarily expect 26 total touches as he had in his stellar opener in the Eagles' win over the Green Bay Packers in Brazil.

But he'll be an important part in trying to beat the Falcons.

The Falcons are coming off a loss to Pittsburgh in their opener.
