"Have a plan. Know where you want to go, how you're going to get there and how you're going to get back," said Managing Director Adam Thiel.

The emergency operations center will be activated as well as mobile command posts.

"You will see a large police presence continue throughout the day and into the evening," said Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel.

SEPTA service changes announced for parade day

Here's what you need to know if you plan to head into Center City on public transit for the parade festivities.

SEPTA said there will be free rides on the Market-Frankford Line and Broad Street Line, with service running every six to eight minutes starting at approximately 5 a.m. on Friday. SEPTA said the bill for those rides is being footed by Kevin Hart's tequila company Gran Coramino.

A limited number of stations will be open to safely move the large crowds into the city, SEPTA said.

For a map of those SEPTA stations, visit this map at SEPTA.org.

SEPTA asks commuters to plan accordingly whether you're traveling into Center City to celebrate or for your normal workday.

Meanwhile, Regional Rail customers can use Key cards, passes, or purchase a one-day pass for the parade.

The $10 one-day pass, which goes on sale Wednesday, Feb. 12, must be purchased before Friday, SEPTA said.

SEPTA pointed out that Regional Rail fares cannot be purchased on the day of the parade, so customers are urged to load up their Key cards or purchase a pass ahead of time.

It's valid for 10 rides across all modes, and if it's not used on parade day it can be used on another date of the customer's choosing.

Other changes are planned for SEPTA services on Friday. For detailed information about transit plans, visit this page at SEPTA.org.

PATCO service changes

PATCO said it will operate on a modified schedule for the parade.

From 6 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Friday, PATCO will operate westbound-only service from four New Jersey stations: Lindenwold, Woodcrest, Ferry Avenue, and City Hall, with nonstop service to 9/10th & Locust Street.

Starting at 1 p.m., PATCO will transition to operating eastbound-only service from 9/10th & Locust Street. Normal service is expected to resume at 7 p.m.

School closures in Philadelphia for the parade

The School District of Philadelphia will be closed for the parade on Friday, Feb. 14. That includes all schools and administrative offices.

"We look forward to celebrating the Eagle's victory as a community, and we hope that our students, staff and families will do so safely and responsibly," Superintendent Tony Watlington said.

In addition, all Archdiocesan high schools and Parochial elementary schools in the city, and Archdiocesan high schools in the five-county Archdiocese of Philadelphia will also be closed.

Catholic elementary schools in the suburbs will decide on closures on an individual basis.

"The Archdiocese of Philadelphia continues to extend its prayerful congratulations and best wishes to the Philadelphia Eagles on their historic victory in Super Bowl LIX!" the archdiocese said in a statement.

NJ Transit adjustments

NJ Transit is adjusting its service for the parade.

The following changes are being made:

Rail

  • Limited additional capacity will be added to select existing Atlantic City Rail Line trains.
  • An extra train will operate between Atlantic City and Philadelphia 30th St. station, departing Atlantic City at 7:35 a.m. and arriving in Philadelphia at 9:14 a.m.
  • An extra train will depart Philadelphia at 3:54 p.m., arriving in Atlantic City at 5:36 p.m.

Bus

  • Prior to 8:00 a.m., all Philadelphia bus routes will operate regular routing. All a.m. service on the 414/417/555 routes will go to 30th St. station as scheduled.
  • From 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m., all Philadelphia bus service will be adjusted due to street closures and will make a single stop in Center City Philadelphia at 6th/Race St. While this adjusted service is operating, customers should plan to be at 6th/Race St. at the arrival times shown on the timetable.
  • During p.m. peak period, routes 414/417/555 will NOT board at 30th Street Station. Customers must go to the 6th/Race stop and use the existing Market/7th Streets departure time shown on their timetable for guidance.

NJ Transit says all beverages will be prohibited on trains, buses to and from Philadelphia and River LINE Light Rail.

Sports Complex parking lots to be closed

Commuters will not be allowed to use the parking lots at the Sports Complex in South Philadelphia for the parade on Friday.

The city confirmed those lots will be closed, just like they were for the parade in 2018.

One of the reasons, the city said, is that having the lots open takes away too much Philadelphia police manpower, which is needed elsewhere for parade security.

Hotels filling up

Center City hotels are planning to be booked up for the parade.

The Logan Hotel sits on the parade route at Logan Square. They were nearly full Super Bowl Sunday for watch parties and their nearly 400 rooms are sold out for Thursday.

"Pretty much overnight, we sold our Thursday and Friday in anticipation for Friday's parade," said Jessica Bauer of Logan Hotel.

That's what hotels are seeing across Philadelphia -- people booking rooms for Thursday so they can be here for the parade.

Kimpton Hotel Palomar on 17th and Sansom streets is also seeing an uptick in bookings overnight, they are nearly sold out.

In fact, most hotels in Center City are nearly full for Thursday, with rooms going for several hundred dollars.

Previous Eagles Super Bowl parade was in 2018

The last time we had a Super Bowl parade in Philadelphia was in 2018 after Nick Foles led the team to victory over Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.

The parade began at the Eagles' stadium complex in South Philadelphia and slowly made its way up Broad Street in Center City past cheering fans standing 20 deep in spots.

It ended with a celebration on the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, famously featuring Jason Kelce's impassioned speech.
