Person struck and killed by Amtrak train in Bensalem

BENSALEM, Pa. (WPVI) -- A person was struck and killed by an Amtrak train in Bensalem, Bucks County.

The incident happened shortly before 4:00 p.m. Thursday in the area of of 500 State Road.

Police tell Action News the person struck was pronounced dead at the scene.

The fatal accident affected SEPTA's Trenton Line which was suspended for close to three hours.

Service resumed around 6:45 p.m.
