Don't let cold weather and small apartment keep you from summer shape
Amy Freeze has a look at the small apartment workout, for when it's too cold for the gym.

NEW YORK -- With all this bad weather around, it can make the most active people stay inside and keep cozy.

Cold and slippery conditions should not keep you down and lack of workout space should not stop you from exercising. You can still build a summer body in the winter. Master trainer Matt Majockamo said he's got the solutions for your exercise excuses.

"All you need is a dish towel, tennis ball and a water jug," he said. "And you'll have a workout in your own apartment."

Majockamo said small-apartment renters can do some simple and effective moves without all the fancy gym equipment to get in shape for the summer.

"This is how you get six-pack abs in the winter," said Majockamo, as he demonstrated a move using only a dish towel.

West Village resident Ande Sedwick likes the stay-inside workout.

"If I can do that in my own space and not take the subway or bus, and avoid the hustle and bustle of cold weather, I'll do it," he said.

Getting creative in your small space and repeating the exercises can prevent fitness setbacks and keep you working out until spring.
