Flames hit Toscana's Pizza on East Kings highway near the Whitehorse Pike at about 5:30 a.m. in Audubon, New Jersey.
Nobody was injured as firefighters evacuated several apartments that are located above the eatery.
Firefighters tell Action News that the flames broke out in the building's basement and quickly spread.
For a time, police had to detour traffic on Kings Highway because of the fire activity.
