Oprah Winfrey used a visit to a rural New Jersey town to discuss how people can use education to achieve their goals. Winfrey was the keynote speaker Saturday at the annual festival in Whitesboro, a tiny, rural community founded in 1901 as a settlement for blacks leaving the South.

Her longtime boyfriend, Stedman Graham, is a Whitesboro native.

Winfrey last gave a speech in the Cape May County town in 1998.

To back up her talk about education Saturday, Winfrey announced she was donating money to create a local scholarship fund.
